Poas Volcano in Costa Rica Open & Active

Costa Rica News – Poás volcano recently reopened to visitors.
The crater is seeing the release of energy again, but without risk for visitors at this time. There are sulfur geysers of about two meters in height.
Visitors report seeing what looks like curtains of gas and steam over the lake. Scientists visited to confirm that there is no danger to tourists. The viewpoint is in the southern sector and the ash and vapor are being moved west.
Should there be an unforseen danger, as of August 31st, there are tourist shelters and real-time gas meters. Additionally, the amount of visitors is controlled at all times as per the regulations of reopening.
