Microsoft Plans Relocation of Costa Rica Headquarters to San Jose

Costa Rica Business – Microsoft has announced plans to relocate its Costa Rica facilities to Torre Universal in downtown San José, with construction planned for 2019-2020.
“With this relocation, the multinational company reinvests in Costa Rica and opens the possibility of creating hundreds of new jobs,” writes CINDE on LinkedIn. “The initiative seeks to unify sales, operations, and customer service business units.”
The initial investment into the Tower is estimated at US$50 million, and Cisco is expected to follow suit by developing a regional cybersecurity lab in the same building.
Torre Universal is part of a new Technological City complex that will host companies with specializations in R&D and innovation, along with enterprise incubators, accelerators, and a campus for the Technological Institute of Costa Rica.
