Costa Rica Mulls Pardon for 50 Undocumented Filipinos

Costa Rica News – Costa Rican President Luís Guillermo Solís is considering the Philippines’ request to grant amnesty to 50 undocumented Filipinos in the Central American state.
Solis conveyed this to Philippine Ambassador to Mexico Eduardo de Vega when the request was raised after his presentation of credentials as non-resident ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the Philippines to Costa Rica in San José.
There are about 50 Filipinos not properly documented in Costa Rica and leaders of the Filipino community have asked the support of the embassy to intercede with local officials on their behalf.
Before presenting his credentials to Solis, De Vega met with the Filipino community in San Jose.
